Brownfield Land Scotland 2018

Date: 31/01/2018 | DCS News, Environmental

Laura Tainsh, Davidson Chalmers’ Partner in Environmental, Waste & Renewables will be speaking at the upcoming Brownfield Land Scotland 2018 conference on 7th February in Edinburgh. Laura’s specialist legal expertise is underlined by her recognition as a Chartered Waste Manager with the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM), the only solicitor in Scotland to have obtained this accolade.

Her presentation will focus on ‘Assessing the practical implications of changing SEPA policy and legislation on waste management in brownfield projects’.

In this session Laura will discuss:

  • Reviewing current exemptions and exempt sites
  • Assessing the options and relevant legislation for:
    – on-site re-use of materials (including treatment)
    - off-site use or disposal of materials
  • Examining enhanced compliance and how that will affect sites and costs going forward

The 11th annual Brownfield Land Scotland conference will bring together expert lawyers, regulators, consultants and industry representatives to provide up-to-date information on the regulatory framework affecting brownfield development, as well as practical solutions to many of the risk assessment and remediation challenges associated with contaminated land and groundwater. You can find out more about the conference on Brownfieldbriefing.
