Davidson Chalmers has announced the appointment of Simone Young as its new Head of Construction.

Simone, who joins the firm from Lindsays, will play a leading role in the expansion of Davidson Chalmers’ services to key clients across a range of sectors in the Scottish market. Simone will work closely with the firm’s commercial property, planning and renewable energy teams.

Simone specialises in all aspects of non-contentious construction law and has extensive experience in acting for all parties involved in the construction sector and regularly advises clients upon both standard form and bespoke construction contracts. She is involved in drafting and negotiating all forms of construction documentation and has worked with a wide range of organisations including Edinburgh University, Heriot-Watt University, The Scottish Historic Buildings Trust and The Scottish Youth Hostel Association.

Andrew Chalmers, Managing Partner at Davidson Chalmers, said: “It’s a great coup to have recruited someone with Simone’s considerable construction expertise and experience.  She will be able to add another dimension to the services we offer to our clients. This is an exciting time for Davidson Chalmers, with a number of significant new client wins and the on-going recruitment of new fee earners and staff across the firm.”

Simone Young commented: “I am delighted to be joining the Davidson Chalmers team. I’m looking forward to working with new and existing clients over the coming months and helping the firm move forward to achieve even greater success.”
