In my role in the Dispute Resolution team, I have been involved in disputes relating to insurance policies, title conditions, leases, property boundaries, nuisance, contracts, employment law and tax. In my PSL role, I support the firm with keeping up-to-date on new legal developments, consultations on changes to the law, and assisting colleagues by carrying out research on difficult or novel legal issues.
My interest is principally in property litigation, although my interest in law is wide-ranging.
I am an Ordinary Course Tutor on the Property, Trusts and Succession (Year 2 Undergraduate) courses at the University of Edinburgh. I am also the case law contributor for the Property Law Bulletin, a specialist publication for property lawyers in Scotland. I have had case comments and contributions published on various areas of law in the Journal of the Law Society of Scotland (Online), Juridical Review, the Employment Law Bulletin, Scottish Planning and Environmental Law and the Aberdeen Student Law Review. One of my articles was cited and discussed by Professors Gretton and Reid, leading authorities on Scots property law, in their Conveyancing (2019) publication.
In January 2021, I was appointed to a 3 year term as a Committee Member of the Law Society of Scotland’s Property and Land Law Sub-Committee, which provides input on proposed changes in property law, land reform and related topics via consultation responses.
Out of the office, I am a keen runner and occasional hill-walker and I enjoy spending time with my friends and family. I support the Scottish Greyhound Sanctuary, a charity for rescuing and rehoming greyhounds.
