Having previously worked In-House for one of the UK’s largest independent renewable energy developers, I have a proven track record of providing tailored, commercial legal advice on all property aspects of renewable energy projects (both pre and post-construction). I also have experience of advising landowners regarding renewables developments on their land.
I have considerable experience of negotiating property project contracts, including: options and leases; site-crossing agreements; security and restoration documentation; development agreements; asset purchase/sale agreements; and supporting the property aspects of corporate purchase/sale transactions.
My experience also extends to conducting property due diligence in relation to large and small-scale developments, in the context of financings and sales, to cover heritable title and ancillary property documentation for multi-landowner sites. This includes providing Certificates of Title for funders.
Other experience includes:
Drafting and negotiating legal agreements with local planning authorities;
Providing property and project input to an aviation agreement in satisfaction of a planning condition for an onshore wind farm project; and
Advising a client (including instructing Counsel) in relation to a successful arbitration regarding a long-running dispute on the interpretation of provisions of a project lease.
