Ultimately, a company’s PSC Register will be available for public inspection and will be searchable online via Companies House. The requirement to keep a PSC Register will commence in January 2016, however the obligation to file the PSC Register with Companies House will not come into force until April 2016. The purpose of the PSC Register is to provide greater transparency of company ownership and control.

The information on the PSC Register is intended to be clear, concise and relevant, whilst also respecting confidential information. Companies and individuals will have a statutory obligation to obtain and maintain accurate information for the PSC Register and failure to do so could result in imprisonment or a fine.
